Might be selling up
Discussion
Hey chaps. I've been here before and bottled it but after ten fantastic years, I am having thoughts of selling the wedge. Really don't want to ever part company with it and part of me thinks I'll have it for life but I've not got room for another car in the garage and fancy a new toy/project.
I have no idea what I would even put it up for if I did. It's wanted for nothing and is completely reliable since the rebuild. Am I totally bonkers? Hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds into it in my ownership... Help!!

tough one, it seems part of the human condition is that we have to make our mistakes for ourselves and can't learn from others and their mistakes, but nevertheless for what it's worth, some years ago i lovingly rebuilt my s series s2 from a non-running wreck that i got for next to nothing, then after a couple of years fun i thought i needed something more sensible, more comfortable (i'm 6'3"), safer (as a dad with a little boy) etc etc... so sold it and bought another e30 325i convertible, most comfortable car ever with recaro leather sports seats, abs, 4 full size seats, big boot and very nearly as fast in acceleration and much faster and more stable and better handling at high speeds than the s2...... BUT it didn't make the same noise or give me the same buzz! so 3 years later i bought my s2 back.
it had been spoiled by the interim owner, he had done a lot to 'my' car i wouln't have, which i've been undoing since...
now i have just bought a 3905 wedge and still don't want to give up the s2.
the answer i think is to move!
move somewhere with lots of space and better roads and safe storage to room to tinker. a big barn in the country!!!!
that is my suggestion ;-) as well as my long plan 4 vehicles all on the street in north london is not working!

Well i think the cheapest option for you mate would be to build a bigger garage!...Or take up a new hobby like building models or learning to play an instrument.....This might sound off the wall but we all strive to be happy in our lives so why ruin it by making yourself un-happy?...Come to the fest...Stay over...Join in the fun and you will see the light...

Hi Matt because you have been with your wedge for so long plus put your heart and soul into the refurbishment of it, I can say from personal experience that you will regret selling the wedge ! I still miss the 400SX not so much because it was a great car but because I too put my heart and soul into it, I guess we shouldn't get to attached to our cars but TVR's create so many emotions it's hard not to let them get under your skin ! Ultimately mate its your decision just don't rush the decision, if I were a doctor I would prescribed you get into your Wedge ASAP and drive it like you stole !!

Hi Matt..I can understand where you are coming from .You have a great Tvr wedge which looks in fantastic condition thanks to all your hard work .But you also have a great car in the Tuscan ....Great car also .But 2 similar cars . Good luck i.A difficult one.I have 2 cars a Jensen Healey that needs restoring .And my 350i .Not sure if I should own both Mike
Don't sell you will regret it !!
Says a man who has a 350se just needs the roof replacing, ordered !!!.
A tvr 350 FHC needs a full resto !!! bought in feb whilst drunk and haven't done anything with it since.!!!
2 sunbeam lotus's, a defender soft top converted to a better engine etc needs a weekend to finish ! jeep grand cherokee needs 2 days to sort and more plus cars !!!! and a full time job !!
Where does the time go ??

Hi guys. Thanks for all your comments... It's a really tough one. I love it to bits and really enjoy it but have a hankering for a yank car which is what's spurring me on.
Not sure if I could deal with seeing someone else change all the work I've done...and make it quieter!! No way!
Think I will do some proper miles in it and have a think. I do wish I could extend the garage!

Ford Thunderbird (first gen) are what i really want.
Mmmmm....Restored American beauty with a 312 V8...About the same MPG as the Wedge but might be less SPG....What would i have.....

Or
Restored TVR 400SE with a 4.0ltr V8 About the same MPG as the Bird but treble the amount of SPG...

Also the Thunderbird is a tourer and NOT a sports car!...So all good in a straight line for that one.
Now if you had said you were thinking about a 1955 Thunderbird old/New stock "Shockblast" then i would of said "Bye bye Wedge...Love you"....

It might just be me but i absolutely adore new from old creations, This for me is a beautiful modern car and if i win the lottery this will definitely be part of my collection...

Sometimes beauty is not in the eye of the beholder....But is just naturally beautiful....
I mean look at that lovely slice of gateau
