Good morning,
I have noticed there are some small coolant leaks coming from the hoses where the jubilee clips have been overtightened, is it possible to buy a complete set anywhere?? if so can someone please let me know. Also seeing as I will be renewing the coolant how much will I need approx? 5-10 litres?? Also is the waterless coolant any good, it looks pricey but does not rust any of the block and it doesn't boil until well over 100 deg C .

Hi mate

Firstly i wouldn't bother with the Evans fluid as its expensive and is only really good if you have had new radiator..Water pump..etc Plus you do not want any leaks.
You can buy a complete set of coolant hoses which can be bought from

ACT
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...
Or from
ML Performance
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...

Or you could match up from
ASH
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...

If using silicone then buy good quality clips like Norma or a type which is stainless and has a rolled edge and not a flat one as these tend to cut into the hose.

A word of caution if you are going silicone...When tightening you only need to tighten until the clip starts to sink into the hose..Do not over tighten on silicone and put the clip as close to the cut edge to avoid flaring.

Info on Norma

Coolant is around 10-11 litres capacity for a 350i.

You maybe best to get a complete set of silicone hoses, I know ACT do them as do a few other of the TVR independents. you may need new stainless clips designed for silicone if your's dont have a round edge.
They are not much more expensive than rubber and look a lot nicer, and there is a choice of colour.

Just to echo what's already been said, good quality hose clips (of the correct size) are essential - I use JCS personally, mostly stainless. Coolant capacity is about 10-11 litres, but unless you drain the block by the 2 taps, you won't get it all out. 50 / 50 water (preferably soft - I used some collected from a dehumidifier) and antifreeze.

Most of the wedge hoses have some slack, usually enough to trim off 10mm and re-fit, job done.

Thanks guys. I will be ordering the hoses from ACT by the look of things as these come with their own stainless hose clips. Might as well go for the rocker breather hoses as well so they all look the same.
