Hi all,
would anyone have or know where to source a Plenum to air flow meter hose flapper system for my 350i?

I have had running problems with her for a while, hunting and stalling, and upon inspection and knowledgeable advice from the very talented and trusted friend, Jack Valiant, AKA Chris. He has hit the nail on the head and found the problem and sorted my timing to boot.

The wedge is currently running as it should and popping and banging spectacularly.

However, it is down to a quick & short term fix of the AFM hose but this needs replacing asap.

Sourcing one is the problem. So if anyone out there can help in any way I would be most grateful.

Thanks in advance.
Gary ( & Chris)

Hi Gary...& Chris smile

Mine has an ACT intake hose on it...

Mine is the blue one but the black may be thicker as mine is a bit spongy...

Just be careful - if your plenum and AFM are not at the same level then the ACT one wont work unless you re-position the AFM.

Want to avoid the silicone one if possible & get the rubber flexible one as long as it'll fit. The ACT one doesn't quite reach.
Grateful for the suggestions so far keep them coming smile

Hi Mark hope you are well. Will try to make the wedgefest.

You can make it fit by making it longer/shorter and give it different angles to reach different levels if you use your imagination as in photos. Jubilee clips must be used at all joints.

Thanks Elvis, I really want to keep it as original as possible, I will keep looking until I find one, the one piece hose is less prone to air leaks.

This stuff is really light, really thin and when it arrives you will think it's rubbish. However it's been on my 420SE , had a big session on the rolling road and I'm really surprised / pleased. Cheap and flexible, what's not to like

Got to admit this look good & a great price not to mention almost original in its likeness. After all if the one on my wedge is original & I feel it is, it's lasted 28years!!
Mmm will see what the man in the know has to say ??
Cheers Mark, great find

You can still buy the original item for rimmers or the like as long as it's a standard afm / plenum

Anyone know the correct outside diameter for a stock 350i plenum and flapper AFM so we can get the correct hose for Gary?

Hi Guys. not flapper but plenum is 70mm and hotwire AFM 80mm, found this out on a Landy forum, worth a look if you cant be bothered to go in the garage. The Land Rover hose looks like the original one from pics. I just did this. for less than 20 Quid.

Waiting a call back from a local land rover dealer who can source one pre '92.
Might not be the right one but fingers crossed. Failing that & any original ones lurking in someone's garage ( beer tokens at the ready) then that item that Mark posted up might be the way to go. Rimmers one isn't a good fit on my 350i.
Thanks for all the help guys , much appreciated.
Jack Valiants expert fix is keeping it running as it should so far.
Everything else is spot on with the old girl

Quick update
Got a plenum to AMF hose on order.
Went with Zig's suggestion as no joy from any of the Landrover dealers & specialists up here! The ones they had were too short & wide at both ends.
Thanks everyone for all your help & suggestions.
Gary

P.S if anyone does find an original one laying around, I would still be interested.
