350I replacement engine needed

Hi guys
When we stripped down the engine we found a lot more wrong than we expected so now we are looking at a possible replacement or a doner engine to strip for parts

I have spare cylinder heads, two full Efi sets but not a complete engine. Gents any of you still got any 3.5's knocking around your garages taking up space?

I have a 350i engine out of a Wedge but it's done over 140k so will need a strip down and rebuild anyway.

Should be 2nd hand Rover V8 lumps available somewhere, enough of them made. For the 350i though, you will ideally want a unit with numbers beginning 30A or 37A stamped on the L/H side of the block (near dipstick tube) as these were the Rover SD1 Vitesse spec lumps of alleged 190 BHP fame. if your going to swap the engine, I'd get a SH 3.9 and fit a fast road camshaft, your then have 220-240 BHP. all the ancillary's will bolt on and it will look 100% the same. all for less than £1000

New one on flea for £250 or less. New cam, followers, bearings etc. Might be a quick solution. Nothing to do with me though.

Sounds fishy to do all that work use twice and then decide you want a bigger lump. you cant get the feel of the engine in just two uses.

I was thinking of buying it myself to turn into a replacement and learn a bit, but your need is maybe greater. Price is hopefully negotiable if it's still there
