Having brought a FHC 280 recently I'm a little unsure if it's a s1 or s2.
I read about the fuel filler difference but with tvr it seems confusing!

Here is the details off the log book, anyone able to confirm what it is off this?

Hi mate

Not totally sure of the last S1 produced but the S2 was brought in at around late 1981 so you might be on the cusp?...

Cheers

Hi

Have you a pics you can post up, especially of the rear quarter that will help.

But I think it will be a S1.

Hi Mathew

An S1's rear top is like this angled in.

The S2 is the opposite the top is angled out.

But this is TVR, you can't be 100% certain for example a friend has a red FHC made a month after my blue S2 which has black wiring and a single flapped fuel filler. The red car has twin no flaps fuel filler's, also it's the first TVR/wedge with coloured wiring and has the fuses/relays inside unlike my car (Pic below) again made a month later.

I hope this helps

Andy

Thanks for the info guys, the car is being restored but am happy to report it's in real good condition considering how long it was in storage.

It must be a s1 I guess

I'm not sure you can rely on the "Date of registration" on the V5. It is possible that an 'S1' could have been sitting a dealership unsold for some time after the S2 was released and eventually registered after some 'S2's had already been put on the road. The chassis number is the best way to be sure. Unless of course TVR were making both 'S1' and 'S2' at the same time for a short period. Mine S1 was registered a few weeks later than yours and is chassis number FH5189.

That's good news then, all I got to do now is get to work on it!
Love the wiring loom on it, all in black :-(
