Just a wild idea - has anyone considered/fitted a Toyota/Lexus V8 engine - was reading an article yesterday which said they are actually SMALLER than the Rover, and a lot more powerful, easier to tune, etc.

Not sure about manual gboxes though.

Just asking !!

How about a Lexus V8 in an 'S'? near enough?

Wow - I didn't spot that !!

I bet it goes "quite well" (and snaps the driver's neck.....)

I was asking as I reckon it may be the cheapest way to get 300+ bhp in a wedge today.... Don't know about UK, but here in NZ, you can find a complete engine, autobox, loom, EFI for about 1000 quid (equivalent) and I can't see how that would buy much RV8 tuning gear....

No, Andy, I haven't.

But if I were younger and had the time, I have often thought the Nissan 3.7 litre V-6, as fitted to their Z cars, would be interesting.

I read some about this engine, perhaps for my project, too.

It's suppost to be a good engine because Toyota/Lexus would not kick off with breakable machine (Lexus 400), so it's 6 bolt/bearing. Easy tune with turbo etc. (Seen lextreme.com?).

I also found talk of combination with Supra manual Gearbox.

Since I'm not technician, please let me know your further thoughts/findings?
