Busted headlamp adjuster (rectangular lights)
Discussion
Well one of my MOT items was the headlamp aim being too low, and it turned out the adjuster on one side had busted. The brass ferrule pressed into the steel frame had ripped right off. You could adjust it a bit but it wasn't solid.
At first I tried an aly plate behind the frame but that lasted all of 5 minutes, the thread just ripped off.
So I then welded a couple of M5 nuts to the frame - this seems to be holding together. Only problem was I couldn't find my welding mask so I had to just shut my eyes.... a bit of hit and hope... but they seem to be on there nice and sound. And I avoided welding the bolt to the whole lot!
Also added some moly grease to the adjusters to prevent a recurrence hopefully.
