The Owner's Handbook specifies EP SAE80 for the 4 speed gearbox. Is it best to stick with old tech oil for the old tech 'box, or is there a better modern equivalent for SAE80 ?

Are the drain plug and filler plugs on the left hand side? Is it possible to get a wrench on them without disturbing the exhaust system? I suppose I should have had a look when I had the car on axle stands to do the fuel tank, but I had my hands full. Literally! smile

While I'm at it, what is the best oil for the diff?

Thanks in advance?

For a non-limited slip diff any 80/90 gear oil is fine, that diff was designed in the dark ages wink
Pretty much ditto for the Ford gearbox; it's the V8's LT77 that's a bit of a lubrication prima donna.
