Has anyone tried removing the remote from the gearbox(LT77) while the gearbox is still in the car? Is there enough room to get it out and how easy is it to get it back in place? I'd like to overhaul the linkage but I don't fancy removing the engine to do it. TIA

Fiddly but yes you can just about get it out. Took mine out on the 420SE with the box still in situ

I did mine , worst bit for me was replacing the pin that connects it to the shaft on the back of the box, fiddly for one with fat fingers. I found it easier with some help at this point to hold the stick in the best position. When you lift the stick out , hold some cloth around the base to catch the anti- rattle spring, mine went flying down the drive..... (GRAVEL)

Thanks for the replies. Can I ask, did you have the car on normal ramps for this or did you have access to a proper lift. I only have standard ramps which doesn't give much clearance. Is it still possible on normal ramps?

I jacked mine up , sat the front on standard ramps, and the back on axle stands to level up, so I could change the oil at the same time..
