No source seems to have the right reverse light switch for my 280i USA gearbox. They keep giving me the Capri one which is totally different in size and threads. Picture reference is in inches. Does anyone recognize this?
Thanks.

It has stamping on side that reads "1184". But that could be manufacturing date rather than part number. It is a very course thread and used to have two cylindrical electrical contacts from the base.

Think you will find you are looking for a Ford 6005475, which is (or likely was as it now 30+ years old) a heavy duty reverse light switch, it has a larger thread than the standard item. I last bought one on 22 June 1989, it was special order from the dealer then........ Good luck!....

Hang on.... with the power of google

What's wrong with your one, terminals broken off?

Could wires be soldered on?

It is so cheaply made that it cannot be repaired and oil leaks thru it. I ordered a new one with the info from you guys. Thanks.
