Hi All,

Some may remember me from quite a few years ago, maybe as much as a decade!
Brief TVR ownership history....

350i
Chim
Chim
Griff 400

Anyway not having owned a TVR for many years I've just taken the plunge and bought my myself a little cheapy to ease myself back in....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111446667067?_trksid=p20...

Will be going straight into the garage for a general winter refurb in readiness for summer 2015 use.

I notice this particular car has been mentioned in a previous posting and I'd be keen to learn from those who posted what they know of it's history...

Good to be back, and no doub't I'll be seeking help and advice in the coming months.

Cheers, Rob :-)

Thanks chaps, good to be back....

Hi Wyn, see you left the wedge fraternity then? I so wanted to find an SE project for the winter but they seem few and far between sadly!

Mine is not arriving back in Wales until the end of next week and when it does it's going straight into the garage for a good going over, but when ready a Sunday brekkie get together will defo be on the cards.

Cheers.

My neighbor's fault. He had a 300hp Lotus Exige Supercharger 2 yrs ago. Took me around the Brecons & back over the Black Mountain pass. I knew they were good but f3ckadoodle, I didn't realise they could disobey the laws of Physics. The VX is the same. The 220 Turbo has the exact same chassis & damper setup as the Exige S2, give or take a few tweaks. It just blows me away. Does 31mpg on my short journey to work too!!

I heard the VX200 was only reliable enough for a short journey - I'm amazed it's still going!

Quick follow on........
Car arrived last weekend and pleased to report I'm delighted, a nice thick folder of history complete with all old mot's,a box of spares, set of slightly part worn toyo's it's original owners booklet and two sets of keys... (I took a punt and bought unseen).
Put it straight into the garage for a winter refurb and these are my initial findings....
After placing her on axle stands I removed the wheels then the sills and then the doors (top tip far easier to remove the doors after sills removed).
Chassis is excellent including the outriggers surface rust and flaky paint/coating but very solid, great result there.
Recently been poly bushed all round.
What looks like a new set of coilovers all round, not sure of make! And not yet found receipt!
Very few signs of oil leaks.
Braided brake lines.
Good rear hood, targa needs a recover.
Needs full paint job, but being a flat colour and having many years experience with grp due to my boating passion I'm tempted to do it myself.
Wheels need a refurb, but again working in engineering they will be d.I.y
Interior needs new carpets etc
Needs new seats.
So all in all I think I've had quite a bargain and I'm more than happy.

If anyone has 350i bits and pieces for sale please drop me a line as im sure there are many things I'm going to require.

Will post more as progress is made.

Rob.
