Thought I'd start with the bad one first

Seized mech looks actually damaged / arm bent?

Seat base foam is shot but can get a new one, leather is ok with just a small bit of piping that needs a repair

The base frame has been welded before but doesnt look square to me

Glen, my drivers seat was suffering from multiple cracks / fractures earlier this year (how the idiot trimmer who refurbished the seats days earlier did not see it is another story). The corners are the weak points due to the way the tubing has been crushed to get the right angle. Got it sorted by a local welder & fabricator for about £30. Well pleased. Worth doing on yours I would suggest, to avoid having to strip the seat down again at some future point.

Before and after :-)

Furniture Clinic Leather Cleaner I had on the shelf and a soft bristles scrubbing brush

10 mins elbow grease........not bad but needs a few more goes over

When I get the piping repaired may get that off side panel changed as well. Not got any holes but the stitching has stretched a little and its got some heavy wear creases so if I'm doing it I may as well hey

Glen, if you struggle to get results with the leather cleaner which is quite mild, you could try what i used, which was Mr Muscle multi surface cleaner! yep some people might cringe at the thought of this because it is quite a strong cleaner but i used it and brought the real stubborn stuff out with little effort, wipe off with a wet cloth, leave to dry and then feed as normal = great job. Don't think i would try it on leather that had been re-dyed though!

The leather cleaner that comes with the Woolies kit is pretty good - it contains ammonia though. And you really need to reconnelise afterwards because it strips off quite a bit of the paint.

That's what I can smell with the furniture clinic stuff......ammonia

Are you sure its leather as it looks like vinyl...Realistically you should only use a mild soap solution and a clean sponge or cloth and always pat dry with a clean towel..You should never scrub leather or it will scuff, Unless you are re-colouring..NOT conollising as that will come off within a week...I wouldn't use any ammonia based products as this will strip the leather and can cause it to go hard..And can do the same to your hands if you are not careful.

I have seen the results from Gliptone that a friend re-coloured his seats with and i must say i was impressed..

If the seats are vinyl and you scrub them then the vinyl can stretch and won't return to normal...If i was a bit further down the upholstery line i would make you some new ones...Today i have been trying to re-cover a centre console but its somehow come out too small even though i used the old cover as a template and allowed a bit more..Ive used up a metre of leatherette which is now destined for the bin..banghead

Make some more sunglasses cases...

I've had very good results with the Woolstenholmes stuff, which is reconnelising paint.

I have: restored a set of rover P4 seats, repaired the leather gear gaiter with brown leather and then connelised it up to match the grey, and repaired a split driver's seat in situ, which I reconnelised over the mend and then put another 25k miles on, and my bum didn't wipe it off again ;^)

I guess there are different products out there with different wear qualities.

THis is the stuff I use:
