My 390 has been playing up a lot recently as some of you may know.
I was losing patience big time and ready to torch it.
After checking all the usual culprits it was still running naff, so took the advice of Jack Valiant (my personal wedge mentor, thanks again Chris) and decided to look at the ecu.

It is now repaired I am pleased to say and driving like never before , smooth and pulls really well.

I took the ecu apart and simply cleaned all of the joints with a medium wire brush fairly gently and used electrical cleaner.
I think though that the problem may have been the power resistor as I took that apart too and all 8 joints were badly corroded to the point that a few of them were joined together with rust !
Gave all joints a really good scrubb with the cleaner too.
Put it all back together not expecting much and wow (I have said all this before but trust me this time it reall did run beautifully) a working 390 !
In fact it was almost too quick as previously I had turned up the fuel pressure regulator to see if that was the problem so turned it down a bit. Went for a 20 mile spin last night and it drives beautifully.

So if you are at the end of your tether and your wedge still drives naff don't forget to look at your ecu and power resistor.

Smash, have you tried this ???

Hi Ian..Im really pleased for you mate, I hope you cleaned the connections as well... smile
Now then if you come on here in the next month or so saying that you have a mis-fire and shyte running...Well all i can say is Ski mask + Baseball bat = PAIN

Right so thats a major tick off the to do list so continue on with it mate..Sort that air intake hose out..I have some 76mmID red silicone hose so have a measure up of your AFM and plenum connection..If they are the same then get yourself a 90 degree stainless steel elbow from here..
http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&a...
And ill GIVE you some ..You will need 4 x clips as well...

Also what is your fuel pressure set to?...Mine is 38psi at WOT any more and my fuel rail starts weeping a little even after having all new hoses and clips!..At 40psi its a matter of 2bhp but the fuel usage is noticeable.

Address the "To do list" one thing at a time mate and you will have a sorted car...You have a strong motor there..Enjoy...Ziga
