Hi, I see there's a new advert on flea for a 350i which appears to have the SE bonnet and big old whale tail spoiler. Is this someone off the forum?

I don't remember this car being up for sale before. It looks very much like a 400SE that was up for sale not do long ago, similarities being the colour and the wheels, but this one's new on me. I must say it looks pretty neat and nice colour. Wheels, dash and exhaust look modified. In fact, where is the exhaust? Tailpipes seem to have disappeared. Looks a bit odd but overall seems really nice. Price little steep but then they are getting rare in good condition, so if you want one, grab one.

I think this has been up for sale before. I remember the guards in front of the rear wheels and iirc the exhuast comes before the bumper, i want to say it exits in the arches but that sounds silly.
Its an unpleasant 40mile drive from me if any one wants me to pop along the M8 to have a look.

Also appears to have had wheelarch flares added and different sills? Looks good though but just too pricey for a 350 IMO.

Registration is only 4 from my old wedge which was F584TDX.

Fuk me nearly 8K....eek..I would expect to see an engine bay that was a bit more cared for than that although it is original..As it still has the one way valve from the plenum vacuum to dizzy...But seeing as the body has been messed with the "Originality" goes out the window so i would want to see an engine bay like mine.

I don't like the interior..Especially the dash!...And what..NO exhaust showing..Just looks weird.

The added wheel arches look okay but they make the wheels look too small...

I want those heater dial controls, They look like the one Wedg1e was making........So not all bad...smile

Mark, I think what you'd really like to see is a blower under that bonnet biggrin

Well for that money mate i would want to see that the chassis is excellent condition and regularly cleaned and waxoiled ...Plus a new cam and clutch fitted with a receipt for the work...Yes a blower would be nice but peace of mind is better....smile

I think this might be the car that was for sale a few months back, with no engine in it, the engine was in bits,?

This used to belong to David Benstead?????? off here, he sold it for around 4k not to long ago, and then went onto buy Sandy (Wild Rover) 390SE.

8k, it must have one of them gold plated Cortina windscreen wipers fitted.

Bizarre that Wedgers whinge endlessly about the perceived low value of Wedges and then undermine some ambitious pricing!

I've used some off a Chimaera I had laying about in the garage, just need to be slightly modified but work perfectly and available in black from early Chims or the later silver ones....

Cheers, Al.

I agree that wedges do seem to get it when it comes to price. Some are advertised over priced and some under priced. 8K is top end 350i though, how many people have paid that for one, apart from new or nearly new?

As with most wedges someone will know its former owner and its ballpark previous sale price. Now if the new sellers of any wedge, not just this one put a explanation of what they have done to it too come to the now sale price of their wedge, maybe potential buyers (lurkers) will be a bit more receptive of the sale price.

It does look tidy mind you.

LMAO - do you want the value of the cars to go up or not - everyone who's outraged by the price isn't in the market for one anyway!

I sold 3 of my previous cars on sale or return through Total Headturners - I got what I was comfortable selling the car for, and he got what he thought the car was worth. Everyone happy but different sale prices.

Best of luck to the seller - will make mine look an unbelievable bargain in the spring if nothing else smile

Reality is.

Seller wants top end, buyer wants bottom.... Called reality unfortunately.

I am still looking but taking my time.... Next spring will do me. Trust me I have been offered some crackers, a few weeks later they appear to be Knackers judging by posts that have came on here and other forums.

How many people have bought a bargain at a lower or paid over the odds than expected price only for it to turn out to be different from what they where told....? I have that's for sure.

Wedges are like any other car, what people are willing to pay not what is stuck in the window or on a advert.

You pays your money your risk.

Hi Rob...That only happened to me with Delilah but then she was locked away for years and neglected..Even so it was sold as a runner, Its a good job i only paid peanuts for her as i went on to spend a fortune on her....The cow.....

Poppy only cost me £2,250 which was a right bargain..Okay i have spent probably that again on her but at the moment she is being reliable and has just passed her MOT so a realistic price of 4-4.5K for her now would be acceptable...Yes it would be nice for prices to start rising but really that should apply to exceptional cars only..Not those that are in fair condition...

I certainly would not pay nearly 8K for a 350i that is in fair condition...I have been offered some really good cars for less...Id pay that for a sorted 400SE or a 450SE that needed a paint job and the interior sorting....Cheers...Ziga

What amazes me with wedge prices (asking prices anyway ) is they're all over the place ranging from ridiculously ambitious to stupidly cheap all at the same time. I mean you'll have what would seem to be an average 350 priced at £7-8 k and the next ad is a good looking 400 asking £6k ! ( there's been a couple gone at this sort of price this year)
I paid a third of the asking price of the ebay car for mine 18 months ago

Have prices risen so much ? Was mine super cheap ? Or is this over priced ? Or a bit of everything?
The ebay car looks good but a very ambitious price for a 350 - particularly at this time of year - maybe if the sun was shining it'd be easier to achieve.
One spin off is that I think I'm going to have to amend my insurance policy with regard to my agreed value as if the worst were to happen I don't think I'd get paid out enough to buy another !!!!
Looks a good car and I wish the seller well thumbup
