Hi i would like some advice,
I'm just about to complete the rebuild of the engine of the car i bought with the 350SE.
It's a 3.9 v8 linered short engine. looking at the cam spec it says that it should have double valve springs.
However looking around different websites it has been suggested that heavy duty single valve springs would be okay.
Any thoughts ?
I am looking to order all the parts i need over x mas so that i can build the engine and get it back on the road mid Jan and take advantage of the cheaper fuel !! weather dependent of course.

I guess the decision rests on the difference in cost between single and double springs, versus the cost of a set of doubles plus a pair of head gaskets if you have to change later... if you don't plan on revving it to the skies all the time then HD singles might well be OK.

I'm not worried about the cost i just want the best for the engine.
i'd rather spend extra now to save time and grief later.
Plus i want the best for power !!!

I would put the double valve springs back in...

I had one inner spring snap and ended up bending a valve frown
