Does anyone have a contact for any of our Dutch friends?
The west yorkshire wedgers are planning a trip across to holland in may and were after suggestions of places to go and stay and some good driving routes. Trickie has already suggested we go here http://www.louwmanmuseum.nl/
Thanks

Andy

I've been to the Louwman Museum. The quality of the exhibits is rather excellent, and the admission fee is rather eyewatering.

One thing they don't advertise is the parking fee which is extra, about 5 or 10 euro? If you park nearby and walk a few hundred meters that will save you the price of a beer.

The canteen inside isn't too exorbitant, which was a blessed relief with the family in tow!

Nearby there's a "Clactonesque" seaside town as I recall.

Contact Albert (Dinkel) - he knows all the roads worth driving in NL.

See the Dutch Spring Run threads - Albert organises them.

Why are you going in May, when the Dutch are holding their big annual meeting in June at Heerlen near Maastrict (near NurburgRing, near Spa etc) and a track day at Zolder?

What date is the big annual meeting? It might be worth a date change....

Most of the activity takes place on Friday 26 June (trackday at Zolder plus prize giving and dinner / drinks at the hotel (south of Maastricht) in the evening. We've been 15 times since the early '90s, and its definitely the best TVR event of all (not just the normal trackday you get in the UK, there are competitive elements as well, making it unique) plus it is a very social event. I would say that it's a must-do.

cos we are only poor Wedgers James!!!!

and don't have the same "Rich-life Tastes" you Zolder crew have.

(I have a joint account with my wife and she would castrate me if I spent
what you manage to spend in a few days)

Its not a "boys only" event (Mrs. Number 7 has attended all but 1 of the 15 I have) and I don't consider myself rich. Bring the wife.

Hi GOG440 - As Number 7 says re dates. I think Zolder is better, but you will also have a great time at Spa Classic too. The roads round there are great, the run across to the 'Ring is great fun. The Michael Schumacher karting centre over the boarder in Kerpen is brilliant.

Eh? What you on about you daft tw@! ;-) That comment makes no sense what-so-ever. It's the same ferry prices, the same fuel prices, the same hotel prices, the same booze/food prices whether you go in May or June?

I meant we spend a fraction of what Ed says it costs him to do Zolder
Or does he buy all the drinks for you and Ian?

Ours is a boys trip for many reasons - the main one is that my wife won't even go in my Wedge as "it is smelly, noisy and rough" - just like me!!!!!

If I took the wife I would have to go in my quiet Slab Turdo V6

A June meet up might be a better option?
