No, i mean the pinstripe in the wrong position!

It's bugged me for 2 years and finally i have booked it in for respray to get rid of the different shade on the doors below the stripe and hence put things right.

Now then, this is where the questions come in. On completion i want to put the 390SE badges on the front wings which have been missing because of the wrongly position stripe but - do i put the stripe back on (correct position just below the crease) or leave it without?

Also, what was the standard spec on the stone guard just in front of the rear wheel? should this be black as some i have seen or should it be body color?

I know, ive been told i'm mad but it's just one of those things that really niggles and until i get it done it won't look like it should as a 390SE.
The problem is, with the color being what it is, it is near impossible to match up, so all the sides and the rear need to be done.

It's purely a matter of preference. After I had the spray work on my 400SE I didn't put the stripes back, only the decals. Two reasons. Firstly stripes make the car look dated I think. Secondly, if you change your mind at a later date, you can always put them on after. If you put it on after the spray work, its harder to remove them. Just my opinion.

PS. Without stoneguard on arches you are likely to get stone chips in that area.

That brochure shot doesn't have the black stone chip on the arch either and looks quite good.

Prefer it without pinstripes, removed mine many years ago.

Personally prefer them on, but I won't argue with the person who goes without because it's a matter of minutes for the next owner to restore them.

Incidentally I did a sweep of pinstripe styles at a BBWF a few years ago and there must be around 10 or maybe more styles on our cars.

Agree with those that have taken the stripes off ..... I did the same with the Gredge and just put the decals on especially after a re-spray
