390SE type rear bumper & rear lower spoiler?

Could a 390SE be fitted with a 400SE spoiler ? and is the 400SE spoiler supposed to give higher ground clearance ?
I thought that the later 390 rear spoiler was the same as the 400/450 anyway. Only the early 390's had a seperate spoiler, rather than being part of the body moulding.
Just to get this clear, are you saying you have the 2 components glassed together as one? Any photos you can send me off-line?
Had a look at a couple of the early versions and they appear to be standard rear bumpers with the bottom cut off and a flat surface bonded in so that the brackets and wing can be bolted on. If this is correct, a standard bumper could be modified, the brackets fabricated which just leaves a wing to find (or nick off someone to have a copy made

I'm fairly sure that my wing is bolted to the boot floor, not the bumper. In fact...

yes.. made as one
Sounds very much like Pistolar has a butchered 400SE spoiler. For details of the more logical 390SE spoiler see Wedg1e's post.
Thanks Wedg1e. That explains that then, and also illustrates the space I want to use for the side exit pipes. The aim, if I can manage it, is to stop the brown residue from the exhaust collecting on the back of the car (white car) by throwing the exhaust fumes out the side, and tidy up the back by having no rear facing exhaust pipe at all. Going this way should avoid the need to move the fuel system, which is required if you exit forward of the rear wheels.
Might become a bit louder at the same time. The car has the original 350 three silencers system on it at present, suffolkfoxy keeps complaining it's way too quiet

Thanks for that. At least the two heated 'handles' would keep my legs warm while loading the boot
.
Seriously though, the brown staining appears to be due to the 'breaking' of the air flow caused by the angular shape, creating a slower moving curl of air, allowing the cack suspended in the air to settle. Can be good for aerodynamic CD values, but is the same thing as causes the dirt to settle on the back window of some 'truncated' design cars.
My idea is therefore based on two theories:-
1) the low rear spoiler/splitter can increase the speed of airflow around the rear reducing the chance for the cack to settle. The earlier SE models seem to suffer less from this from inspection.
2) Side exit pipes push the cack out into the fast flowing air along the sides of the car, hence it's carried away before it has a chance to settle.
This is based on a bit of logic, some comments made in various threads here, and having an engineering degree with some Fluid Dynamics thrown in for good measure (about time I found something useful to do with it!).
Oh, and it would also create our own Wedgie / Sagaris style rear end.
Have thought about having the rear foil formed in alloy as an alternative if a fibreglass one cannot be found.
