water leaking all over

how about this drove car for 30 odd miles runs about 80c on the temp guage, fan working when i stopped the water just poored out the s shape/z shape pipe that goes from the top of the engine to the rubber pipe joining the top of the rad is that normal or does others do it ? i am sorry i ask loads and may not answer alot but although one of my cars is in loads of bits i dont really know what im doing and its all abit of guess work, i will say on the brake q posted a while ago my understanding was that the standard brakes were mark 2 granada and the vented disc was off the same car but the estate version and you could change the disc with the use of spacers i am in the process of putting ap callipers on with the spacers from land rover and granada vented disc, it may not stop of course but what the hell

Where on the pipe? Does it come from the little pipe under the cap. That should be a sealing cap not a pressure cap and just underneath it is another tube that should feed back to the expansion tank. At least it does on mine. If that makes any sense?

Have a check around the jubilee clips and connections in the daylight. Could be that the sealing cap isn't fully tightened too, The two lugs should be in line with the s shaped pipe.

I usually seal up the cap on the swan-neck pipe with a little blue hylomar and then leave it well alone.

it seems to be comming from the cap itself i did try to tighten it up as best i could i think it is best left alone, i no this has been asked before but what the hell is the cap for as there is an expansion tank which surely does the same job

Has the cap got a rubber seal and if so is it badgered? If not, trip to the local factors and buy any old rad cap that has a rubber seal that will fit. Happened to me and £3 odd. I went down this route as they didn't stock the cap and had to order. There is a part number for the correct cap if you search the forum using the drop down box at the top of the pages. Number escapes me now.

Its there to fill up the system.
