tie bar washers

Simon aka thegriff is has done hie tie bar bushes, the big dougnut ones on the chassis.

Question, does it matter which way the large washers go? They are dished. Do they cup the washer or concave out?

Just looked at mine - the bushes sit within the cup of the large outermost washers, i.e. the convex side of the washer is aginst the retaining nut.

He should also consider getting the wheel geometry reset and checked, especially if he has changed any of the other bushes as well.

Mike, yep he is. Didn't have to ask for numbers etc on here as the search threw up the figures. Will pass them on lateer.

Not sure how much difference it really makes but i believe -

The thin washers locates into the chassis plate and the 'rubber' bushes locates into the washer the two thick outer washers should both be concave side to nuts therefore convex side to bushes. This means the washers compress the bush centre and bottoms onto the inner steel bush. Probably allows the tie bar to swivel better.
