I have a big problem guy's, I bought a seac (tasmania's old yellow one) I own a 400se too. The problem is that the 400 drive's better than the seac. Can somebody tell me what the different's are btween these BBW.

When you say drives's better do you mean

Handling. acceleration, power delivery etc ?

e.g. Handling could be down to geometry, springs and shocks

No they don't - you just need to change to a different type of rose tinted glasses

What you you actually mean by drives better ..

The difference is all down to the rear spoiler

when I gave Gavinr (420 SEAC) a lift to the Ace a month or so back he said my 400 felt "more planted" than his SEAC

The SEAC is a racing car for the road, the 400 is a gentlemans sport cruiser

[/quot I can't tell what it is,I think the seac is more a race car. The 400 a better car in the city.
I think that I let some wedge guy's drive those two car's and maybe they can tell me what it is.
Is there no diffence in constuction between these BBW cars.
So, If it is ,can I make the seac like the 400.

I don't believe the boot spoiler makes any real difference to the SEAC. I failed to close my boot properly once and it popped open at over 100 m.p.h. The lid just waved around in an almost vertical position (roof was down) until I stopped and closed it properly. I would have thought if it created any useful downforce the bootlid would have stayed nearer to the horizontal position.
The main problem with SEAC handling is the cheapo suspension parts which seem to be from Ford. If you can afford to, I'd suggest replacing springs and shocks with something more sporty if they haven't been already, and make sure your steering rack is in good condition. Also check your wheel bearings, as you won't hear them wearing out over the exhaust noise. Good luck!

GunMetal - the spoiler makes no difference until over 70 mph..

The Chassis is almost identicle (390 SE based) ..

The car weight is not really much different (to make a diference)

The real difference will be on what people have changed and what they have fitted to your car.

For instance - if you have adjustable suspension (AVO's etc..) - it might need adjusting.

The suspension might need to be adjusted - toe in / out camber etc.. all can make the car feel very strange.

Tyres - just changing from one make to another can make the biggest difference.. I changed from Bridgestone S03's to Toyo (TR1S) and the ride is now much better (not as harsh) steeringis not as darty (tram lining) etc..

The 400 will have a softer cam which means that it will behave better in low-mid rev range = easier to drive and maybe smoother, the 420SEAC original cam is designed to work well above 3500 rpm below that a bit gutless.

Might be worth checking that the SEAC is running properly first before you do anything rash .

Handling wise the SEAC has adjustable suspension and i think on your car full rose joints so it will bang and crash over bumps, you can't do much about this, not as relaxing as a 400 but fun.

Just a quick aerodynamic one.... spoilers work by spoiling the airflow, not improving it.
Cars generally are prone to lift at the rear at high speed: whilst a properly-implemented aerofoil (amongst other things) can generate a positive downforce, most spoilers work by upsetting the vortex created at the rear of the car and preventing (or reducing) lift.
For the most part, outside F1 cars, there is NO downforce added.

There is a little bit of downforce - the weight of the spoiler itself ;^) I think that's the extent of it, though.

Legend has it that the racers refused to race without the big spoiler. But then they drove faster than us

The seac is coming alive above the 5000revs,than it feels like a hurricane
