IIC Ltd. Liquidators pay out at last!!!

Did any of you get stung a few years back(2001?) when Independent Insurance Company Limited went into Provisional Liquidation?

I was only a few months into the policy when they dropped the bombshell! Not happy

I have just received confirmation that they are paying out a return of remaining premium to private policyholders who cancelled their policies when requested to do so.
About bally time too!

I was fortunate to be paying by direct debit but the firm handling the payments were sending out letters saying KEEP PAYING OR ELSE.

Did you have to do anything or did they just pay out? I was hit by this aswell....2 car policies at once though and both about 4 weeks in :-(

All I did was return the policy when they requested it and signed the document saying it was alright for them to pay me the money, oh and of course waited for bally years! If the policies were not returned then I don't think you have a leg to stand on sorry

I didn't pay and I kept the policy and I still got the money from the liquidators.
