Wedge Golf Day Sept???

Hi All....just been away for a week......
Whilst I was away have been thinking...would anybody be interested in a Wedge Golf day in Sept??? (Thought I would ask now...chat about at BBWF)
This is just a feeler (Ohh err) Question as to see what who would be interested.
It would be around the Oxford area of the country (In Between M4, M40.) and would cost around 40 quid for 18 holes, 2 course lunch & Prizes....
Any way...let me know...if not to many Wedge Golfers might stick it on the Main TVR forum.

2 so far...ok...looks like we might be onto some thing here...
I plan to use the Springs Golf Club Near Wallingford for 4 reasons.
1. I know the guys really well
2. The roads to it are great
3. It has a hotel (Would get a good rate.) for those who are traveling
4. It's not a bad course
Anyway...see how many more are up for it before we decide to do a wedge only thing or stick on the main Forum if we can't get some numbers.

Anybody will be more than welcome....Mid week is most likely will be..Think Tuesday or a Friday..all depends on numbers and what is available.

We'll have a little contest...but do it in teams with experienced and non experienced players.
I'll have a quick chat with a few golf courses, Sort out a date...only have 9 holes if that helps.
A Friday sounds good, Tee off in the morning, Finish lunch time have a bite to eat at the golf club. Then hoon for an hour or so to a pub....Then every one can do what they like after that.
If that will get a few more people interested then I'll sort out a date and let you know...If only 3 people want to play then thats fine...a day of work is a day of work....as long as my wife thinks I'm working!!!

For those who fancy trying it but don't want to spend all day thrashing about in the long grass (for golf balls !!), we could play Texas Scramble. Teams are made up of two people (one experienced, one novice). Both hit the ball (hopefully in the vague direction of the hole). Instead of each player hitting the next shot from where his ball landed, both hit it from where the better ball landed. That way everyone gets to play golf but nobody spends all day in a bunker.
I got invited too a 'fun' Texas scramble corporate event once on a really exclusive PGA(?) jobbie. There was even a picture of that Tiger bloke in the foyer hitting the ball off the first T on that very green.
Foolishly they let me have a go! People get really, really, really annoyed when you dig about three or four big holes when you miss the ball off the first T. Strange it's only grass

Just use my solution and everywhere the ball lands put a tee in and hit again !! Got my scores to well below 500 after that little trick !
To say the 'ball lands' must imply that you have hit it first!
i made a solem vow to myself that after that event - which was video'd for corporate posterity I would never play golf again. Sorry guys no matter how hard I t
tted the ball it never got more than two feet.
A better use for a golf course is to creep around it about three in the morning shooting rabbits! - I am Welsh you know.
