Applying waterseal to the hood

I was just thinking it might be easier with the targa top off to apply it to the edge where it meets the rear hood.
Does it matter if any of the sealant gets on to the rubber seals?
I used Thompsons and managed to get it everywhere. Car hasn't rotted away yet
Keep a wet rag to hand? Had to use tar remover where I got the odd drip on the paint work. Next time I gaffered news papers around the hood.
I took the centre section out on mine, put it on my black and decker workmate and painted Fabsil on it. The rear section was then painted too but I masked off the paint work. This allowed me to cover all the nooks and crannies of the roof. Took me no longer than 20 minutes to do each coat.
Easy as that !!
Only problem you have is water beading on the roof which readily rolls off the roof and through the open window when the car is steamed up inside !!! (due to damp weather conditions and not nookie, I might add !!)

So just ran out and put a layer of Renovo colour on mine, just hope it dries quick enough to get the water-proofer on :everything crossed:
