Hi Gunmetal -
I would be most glad to lead you and your friends across couhntry to the BBWF.
Unfortunately, as a result of illness I will not now be attending - so I will have to let you down and I apologise for that.
If you are travelling from Harwich on the Saturday morning I would suggest you leave by 09:00 to make sure you get there for 12:00.
Take the A120 to the Colchester junction with the A12, then take the A12 to Ipswich where it joins with the A14.
The A14 tskes you almost all the way there - it is the main route across the country. At Coventry turn left on to the A46 to Warwick. This road then hits the M40 at junction 15. At this intersection you should take the A429 to Moreton-in-Marsh. Turn left at the Ettington roundabout into Ettington village itself - Ettington Chase is at the other end of the village as you leave it on the right, close to the junction with the B4455.
Avoid Startford-upon-Avon - you'll get caught up in traffic.
You should be able to do the jourbey in about 2 hours depending upon how you drive - I'm not rying to encourage you to break the speed limit; that's up to you!
Once gain my apologies, and I hope you have a good time. I'll see if I can email you and leave you my telephone number so we can meet up at The Alma on your way back - and see that lovely young lady you were telling us all about!
cheers!
JJ

Yes Gunmetal -
There are convoys meeting up at South Mimms and at High Wycombe to run on to Ettington.
However, unless you really want to join one of the convoys, I would urge you to use the A14 route from Harwich - it'd basically one good blast all the way to Coventry, or even Warwick depending upon the traffic, and not that far from there.
You may have already left The Netherlands and therefore may not read this. If you do, ring me on 01255 425869 (or mobile 07957 318983) if you would like to meet up in Harwich at The Alma before you leave the country.
