BBWF Organisers.....

I have just driven back from Ettington after another successful BBWF mega Wedge event, skint, sunburnt!, knackered, with one big hangover....again.

The event this year seemed from where I was standing to be a huge, huge succcess and easily topped last years; more wedges, more great people, more beer and more traders.

The organisers of the event have worked long and hard for many months to make the event happen behind the scenes, sometimes against the odds!

I am going to list just some of the people who organised it and helped out and I for one would like to take this opportunity to thank the rest of the team for doing such a great job.

I am sure there are many more, and if I have missed you then please, please correct me.

I would also like to thank the traders who attended and supported the event with such great prizes. The full story of this will be appearing soon on the Wedgepages site with all of the piccies of the day.

At this point I would also like to thank all of YOU the wedge community on Pistonheads for turning up and making it such a great day.

I would like to echo those thanks. I had a great time, met some lovely people (many of which were un-believably knowledgable in this sphere) and basically enjoyed seeing the diversity that exists within the model.
BBQ was very nice and it was a blessing that the sun had appeared shortly before and made sitting outside pleasureable.
Big thank you to all who helped bring this thing off.

Just wanted to add my thanks too, both to all the organisers and all who attended. Had a great time and made some new friends.

Yep, was sure a great day, We at London Carriage Craft Ltd. have attended many Marques of shows over the years, and this by far was the most genuine bunch of people that you can come accross, there was absolutely NO snobery at all. We spoke to many people, traders and customers alike, and was great to put a face to the voices (they may not agree with me on that one though LOL)
We heard many, many,stories on how the cars were made and developed of the years (so much knowledge, and NO big heads to go with it ;-))
I personally spoke with Howard about the White Elephant, and was told the woodwork would be winging its way to us very soon :-)
I also had a chance to play with my love, that's right NOT the wife; but my love for 1/10 Radio Control Cars in the Non show car park (anybody got any video of of it ?)
A big thankyou to Dicky (he knows what I mean ) or we would of had to go to Mc D's for dinner
No really, a BIG thanks to Dicky, Mike & crew for a great day (how wrong you can be about how people are going to look before you meet them eh LOL

Many thanks for the donations for the free drinks and we managed to give the charity of the day a large chunk of money

If I'd remembered the beer prices were that high would have kept it for beer tokens !!

This was my first year of the BBWF and what a day, every one was great and after the rain had gone it just got better through the day and well into the night, i have to say the jorney home was better than the one down even with a hang over of sorts

As for every one that put the day togeather you are all great people and we all are looking forward to 2006, hats off you ya

Well done to all. Would've loved a beer or three, but we had to drive to a place called 'Broom' for the night,* and though Mrs Bluey did the journey there, I vowed to stay sober ( made up for it later. But it was well weird being the only punter to have a go at the karaoke ) On our after dinner walk, round about 8ish, across the River Arrow, I remarked to Her Good Self that, after today, here with the rolling hills, though still grey in the thinning gloom, passing the thatched cottages in a leafy lane, with belladonna and raccits at the road sides, all that was missing was a Spitfire.... and Lo! Ther came a Spit. And then a black lab, just like Gibson's 'Nigger' (Dambusters). Great end to a good day.

Hope the Cystic Fibrosis funds were strengthened. Loved the red 2500M and it was Great to see Shadowfax ( Ste! Did you roll up the standard for the journey home? Came back via the Border towns today, just so we could do the Mersey Tunnel.... Lovely roads you have round Droitwich ). Apart from the weather, everything was cool, aprt from wishiing we'd stayed to hear that Chevvy engined racing Tasmin. And WHAT is that 'decibel reading' thing all about? A right foot without control...Ouch!

And next year - more free brollies?! Just in case

It was good to meet everyone and their respective Wedges and a definite bonus to get there and back with not a single problem

Oh yes - a real big thanks to everyone involved. The event was so good again and also to see everyone.

Bet everyone even enjoyed the roof down convoys collecting stair rods, just prior to arriving?

I thought the time just seemed to whizz by - not enough time to kick tyres / and chat with more owners!

I am a bit sunburnt, tired and I am off to bed with a big smile
