I would say that 30% is realistically achievable. You do need to decide whether more power is the best thing for you to spend your money on, and whether supercharging your engine is the best way to achieve that extra power. I'm doing it because I want to, not because it is particularly sensible. Is it worth the money? Only you can answer that question, but it is probably not the cheapest way to achieve the power.
My good friend Mr-Scott has a nice blower, a bit bigger than the one fitted to the 400SX, it could be problematic to fit it under the bonnet, but it would provide a slightly higher pressure than the Haughins supplied unit.
Could be good for a Destroy it yourself option

Como - I have an Eaton supercharger on the shelf if you're interested. Was going to fit it to the 350i but never got around to it, and bought the 400SX in the end. It's from a Ford Thunderbird and should be good for 6psi of boost into a 5l engine. It's an Eaton M83 and looks in pretty good condition.
How is your bottom end - is it cross bolted? With a bearing cradle? You need that to be pretty stiff because the crank has to drive the supercharger.
Give me an email - I've done a lot of research into this.

Upside-down is OK, but I think sideways-on could be a problem as the weight of the flap would upset the calibration.
Incidentally the RPI website states that the sirflow meter does not provide the ECU with air temperature information; this is incorrect as there's a temp sensor in it...
On a supercharged engine that goes all to pot - the blower compresses the air and in turn heats it up. Note that the AFM is upstream of the blower.
The point of looking at the temp of the airflow is to combine it with the flapper position to give an overall air mass reading, as I understand it. That tells you how much fuel to stick in.

Hi GunMetal, I think you might find that there is little overall increase in BHP and top speed, but more grunt from a flatter torque curve giving giant killing, cruciform popping performance off the line.

Blower gives lots of instant torque from low revs but runs out of breath at high revs.
Single turbo big enough to achieve high top speed is slow to spin up so you less off the line grunt.
Twin turbo is difficult to fit under the bonnet and will end up in flames
Maybe try the new bmw idea of 2 sequential turbos, small one to spin up fast for midrange acceleration, and big one to give the top speed. Never been done on a wedge before.
I have a plan to fit a small single turbo low down in the airflow from the main fan. Good for midrange acceleration. I don't need to go faster than 220km/h
The 400SX revs freely up to 5700-ish, when the rev limiter cuts in. There appears to be no big problem with breathing. The extra bottom-end torque is great - in fact I find myself overtaking things on part-throttle now, or even just cracking it open a little extra.
The one problem I have seen is that on hot days the top end starts to disappear - but I'm going to investigate water injection to help with that.
Turbos have the advantage that you don't have to worry as much about the bottom end, but there isn't really the space for the exhaust plumbing, I reckon.
Charge cooling has to be the way to go for better blower performance. Getting better airflow round the blower body would help too I reckon. I think I can fit the exhaust plumbing in ok, but I'm going for a high gas velocity, smallish diameter system as I'm not wanting to extract max horses, just make the best use of LPG fuel.
