I reviewed the footage, and I'd have to agree, you didn't hold a steady rpm for the meter.

Nice set of carbs though.

I would like to compliment the owner of the 'pimped' wedge for all the hard work and imagination that was so obviously put into his car.

I realise the car wasn't to everyone's taste, but credit where credit is due, eh.

Nice to see - even Cerbs with sports exhaust's don't
beat a Wedge.. (Steve & Karen) but they have gained about 8 db over the measurement I took before they changed to a sports system.

I've since cut my 'silencer' open to try and cure the sizzling and rattling noises. and what was left of the glassfibre packing has been melted into little glass beads and were rattling around inside the empty box....
So hardly surprising it was bit loud....

and its Feasey not fegsey - sheesh

I'll just have to get the engine to breathe more air (again) in order to get my noise levels up, or fit a diversion valve.....

Yeah, this is a problem with stainless systems; the pipework lasts forever but the wadding doesn't.
When I tested my Tasmin with a dB meter I got 113dB on centreline, 1m behind car (twin tailpipes).
Under hard acceleration in 2nd it was 108dB in the cabin!
The stainless system had been on the car for about 9 years by then...

4500 rpm at 1/2 meter (45 degrees to exhaust).

Throttle was always constant - no blipping or pop's and bangs allowed (as they are much longer).

Tried to make it a fair comparision.

Interestingly - only 1 car would have been able to get on a tract day (93 db) all others were 99db or more
