Gearstick rubber gaiter - donor?

Hi, my gearstick gaiter (the rubber bit under the leather) has seen better days and I'm looking for a new one, or one from a scrap yard. Has anyone got recommendations for donor cars?

go along to TVR or TVRcarparts and ask for a chimera one as they have the same markings that the wedge had and are a good fit

Hi Adam, I have a Sierra I'm scrapping. You're welcome to the gaitor if it's in better nick than yours.

Well I stuck it in but it needed a bit of re-engineering as the skirt at the bottom was too narrow.

I attached it to some thin aly sheet with some wide head self-tappers and then screwed the sheet down to the fiberglass. Tallbloke, can you confirm what sort of Sierra it was?

Adam, the one I got was from HHC in Harrogate. It has a rectangular base and the 'bellows' is offset to one end.
Moulded into the top face it has something like '1.6 Petrol' at one end and '1.8 Diesel' at the other.
Must have been a slight difference in the position of the shift so the gaiter was reversible.

Looks like yours has had the top of the upright bit cut off; mine has a tapered top that's a snug fit round the gearstick.

Not cut off at all, it's as I removed it from a 2litre twin cam J reg Sierra Ghia. Sorry to hear it wasn't a simple job Adam.

No problems - it only took 30 seconds with the Aviation Snips to make the aly plate!
