Funny stains on paint
Discussion
My 350 dont get wet very often but after BBWF and standing in the rain overnight I had some stain like marks left on the flat sections of body where the water had sat, bonnet, boot etc I had to Tcut them out !!! I always use autglym polish and a new thing on top called autoglym ultragloss (I think)the same thing has happened again over this weekend I cant keep on tcutting any ideas ???? :grumpy:
my bonnet also has this problem and i was wondering if its engine heat or shite paint as i rubbed the paint down and got a glass finish on the bonnet only for it to come back two weeks later ,blotches, any ideas from the experts on paints and are these cars painted in cellulose or two pack when new.
Sorted mine a the weekend 1200 wet paper and T cut I am now worried that it will happen again I cant keep on cutting it every time it gets wet. I have given it several coats of auto glym polish to try and protect it. I first thought it may be heat from engine but the boot was marked the same way !!!!!

well acording to the experts its the paints resin binder breaking down and exposing the capillary pores which allow water absorbtion and thus the blotches caused by water, the same experts say to use a polish called auto balm which should help to stop this and produce a liquid finish , the polish does not have the usual kaolin or aluminium silicate which they say produce lots of white dust like zymol does and they can be contacted on www.bilthamber.com ...
