Stupid Question Time

So here we go
I have a speaker blank / cover towards the rear of the passenger door. It has no speaker in it and I aint got one on the drivers side. At BBWF I noticed that alot of you had the same thing, Why ? What are they for ?? :wobble:

It's an optional extra......as you're not sitting in the centre of the car (I hope) the right one sounds much louder than the left to you. So an extra speaker was introduced as an option to the passenger side to enable your tunes to sound more balanced.........

Think there was a topic on this a while ago. Seems a lot have this optional extra, maybe its for keeping the ferets in?

is sposed to be a cabin air vent to relieve pressure in the car when travelling at speed....

I think its actually a vent. I read somewhere that its to stop cabin pressure building up when you shut the doors and are travelling etc. If you consider that most wedges had no free flowing fresh air vents, so when you close the doors quickly the back window on the convertibles gets pushed outwards. The vent stops this cabin pressure from being excessive. Also stopped the side windows from getting push out at the tops with pressure too.

On mine the integrity of the plastic membrane behind the door cards has long gone and at speed fresh air can be felt pooring in through the interior door handles and I get a cold right leg in the winter. As far as I can tell the only way for fresh air (and any chance of de-misting) into the cabin is through the doors.

No wonder the wife complains of the cold draught in the winter. Now I know.
