V8 Oil pressure

I have a rebuilt rover v8 4.6 which I have just installed,I took it to York and did one meeting with it ,the engine performed well but my oil pressure is reading 50 to 60 psi at 5000 revs!what problems can this cause me .Is it because the engine is just rebuilt or have I done something wrong when rebuilding it,The oil pressure spring was an mg v8 item, this is the only thing I can think of that was different,Should I take the spring out and replace it with a standard one, or just run it at the next meeting and see how it goes?

If this is a pre-serp. engine, and the gauge is accurate, that pressure is well high - should be around 40 from 2500rpm upwards. Can be a bit higher when cold, or depending on the oil your're using, but I would think that you're in danger of blowing seals at those levels. Why did you use a different pressure relief valve spring - presumably to increase the pressure? If it's a serp. engine with the pump driven from the crank rather than the distrubutor gear, then I'm afraid I can't help as I'm not familiar with that system, but I'm sure someone on here will be.
