racing cage for fhc wedge?

Was wondering if anyone knows who makes the cages for the racing series? Thinkng about prcing up a stainless steel number for my car!

Any help would be really apprciated.

You may be better off with a plain carbon steel one with a shiny coating. Stainless will be VERY EXPENSIVE to have bent up, and is prone to stress cracking more than ordinary steel.

Surely stainless is quite weak compared to the proper stuff? I had an "A" frame made in stainless for a TR. It didn't last long before the axle went sideways.

Stainless has a slightly lower Modulus of elasticity than palin carbon steel, but is otherwise very similar, but like most metals, it depends on the exact grade and what happened to it during the welding/manufacturing process.

I was thinking of having suspension parts made for the Wedge from Stainless, would be interested to hear more about your problems with the TR.

Stainless is not the right material. Period. The MSA only accept cold drawn carbon steel tubing as this stuff bends a lot before braking and provides better safety. Another reason for using it rather than stainless steel on suspension. Hit a kerb and carbon steel will bend a bit but maintain the integrity. Hit stainless steel and the suspension breaks.

Also are you looking at the cage for a race or a road car.

There is no way you should use a taz race cage without a crash helmet. Have an off without one and it would be like beating your head with an Iron Bar.. very messy....
