I have a 1988 F Reg TVR 350I with a running fault when hot, the tick over is very uneven (HUNTING) Perfect when cold and when car is driven at speed, any ideas as to what may cause this, Also the ECU is a silver 4cu I have been told this could be incorrect and should be a black unit can anybody advise me
MANY THANKS

had the same sort of problem with my car 2 years ago. after trying everything i tried a friends ECU and the car runs perfect. So, try an other ECU or recon yours.

try rod@carelect.demon.co.uk they did a good job for mine

The ECU is a lucas 4cu and it aluminium one.

Good luck

I had this problem a while back. Would hunt really badly, and then eventually stall when hot. Took out the large adjuster screw from the plenum, wrapped some PTFE tape around it and put it backin, setting the idle as necessary. No problems since.

On my car, this screw was slightly lose before and could undo itself after time, altering the idle speed. PTFE tape keeps it secure. Worth trying as its free!

Your brother told me that you put some nitro in the bbw. I saw you driving on the Blackpool event and said to tallbloke is that a wedge or a kia . the car was slow. ha ha ha Lets keep a contest between the bbw in Holland.

A real big bad wedge doesn't need nitro, it will take mhardy's wedge for breakfast.... doesn't it Corno??? So we will have a dragrace, you in the yellow seac, Willem in the black seac, me in the 400se and Matthijs in the 350i!!!!

But it's all for nothing as Henkie will be faster than his shadow..... in his pimped 350i
