90% of the way through a nitrous install and unfortunately a minor problem has reared its head! I need to identify the output trigger wire from the throttle position switch,(flapper valve Maf unit)and cant find it in the 'Bible' or Haynes Rover V8 manual either.
I could always dash out to Halfords and buy an all singing multi meter at ripspeed (or should that be Rip-off) prices, but thought that possibly some kind hearted, well educated bright spark may know the answer!

The throttle pot wiper is red, ground is green and the supply is yellow.

Hopefully the nitrous will be up and running by next weekend.

The throttle pot is not the same as the throttle position switch . It doesn't generate a trigger pulse at all - just a variable voltage/resistance.

You might want to mount a seperate microswitch to tell whether the throttle is above a certain opening. An alternative would be to use a comparator on the throttle pot output (wiper) to see if it's above a preset trigger voltage. You would have to be careful to avoid picking up electrical noise in the engine bay.

Thanks for the info, the unit I am fitting is a 'Zex' set up and apparantly has a self learning processor that resolves the variable output voltage, so I may well rig up a tempory wiring harness first, to see if everything works.
