Following on from the 4.5 V8 oil filter thread:

Just watched Grand Prix Masters race at Kyalami,
Team Unipart were running 2 cars in the race - so maybe buisiness as usual?

I thought Unipart had gone bust but was mistaken : it was LUCAS.

I watched the old masters GP : it was a bit slow at first but the last 10 laps were excellent.

Can't wait for the next one - anyone know when it is.

For those that don't know : Nigel Mansell won

I think this was a taster, there speaking of up to six races next year.

I thought it was pedestrian to start with , but then really picked up in the latter stages .A lot of these guys have not been in single seaters for ten years + ,but they sure got in to the groove pretty quickly . Mansell v Fittipaldi in the last 5 laps was excellent .

I thought they had already signed up for a 12 race series ?

I enjoyed it too, particularly the later stages when the guys were loosening up.

What did strike me was that it might be a good idea to reduce the length of F1 races too, even though ( in the case of F1) I might miss a half hour nap.
