I know the SE has nice vents on its bonnet, has anyone thought about putting an after pair on the 350i? I'm toying with the idea before I respray the whole car early next year.

Well I got a set of bare fibreglass vents I had off TET but never fitted. £30 if you want 'em.

The ones near the windscreen are a bit stupid really; they allow rainwater to collect on the battery...

I think the guys in the TVRCC Challenge have got a fair bit of experience of fitting/moving bonnet air vents so it would be worth talking to some of the race teams.

I'm just thinking about reducing the under bonnet temp near each manifold as well as for induction.

Yeah I put some in my 350 bonnet to get more air in and hot air out !

Was a right pain to fit and never managed to get the filler to sit right aroung the cuts, better option on hindsight is to but a complete 400 bonnett from TET
Or go the way I did and buy a 400

I understand my 350 had a new bonnet fitted after a crash. The 400 bonnet was fitted and looks fine. However, there is a slight difference in curvature compared with the front wing. This may be result of a badly fitting front wing repair or a change in design from the 350 to the 400. Water does tend to collect on the battery shelf, when stationary, and I need to have a good seal where the cables run into the cockpit - if not I get wet feet.

I was also intending to investigate putting holes in the rear of the bonnet where it meets the windscreen, in an attempt to reduce under bonnet temperature. I've seen this on some cars. It's perhaps cheaper and easier than the grille route, but I've some concerns about reducing the strength and increasing the flexibility.

One of the best mods I did to mine to reduce underbonnet temps was to wrap the exhaust manifolds, you need to have stainless manifolds mind otherwise they'll rust damn fast, but its very effective and quite cheap

Anyone know how good ceramic spray is? besides being more expensive than gold!
