350i Cooling Fan Motors
Discussion
A friend has a 1985 350i with twin cooling fans. When his broke, he discovered that a Rover 800 series was the exact same part. I have no idea what the part numbers were or if it varied from year to year, but it may be a starting point if you discover yourself down the dreakers over the weekend. There have been a few different types of cooling fan in the 350i's (twin and single fans too), but I would start with a Rover 827 if I was looking.
I heard that a Mondeo fan unit can be made to fit too from someone on here...

I have a spare single fan unit still in the cowling, that I took off my old 350. Worked well untill it stopped Bought a new one and fitted it, still did not work.
In the ned it was the connector plug knackered so replaced that and all worked but could not be bothered to refit old unit by then
So it's available and working

Went round one of the largest breakers on lincs this afternoon. No motors the right size on anything. I am trying to get the identical ones just because I managed to remove the fans from the gap between the nose and open bonnet, If I make any mods to fit other types I am going to have to remove the whole fan housing from the underside? what a hassle?
Can you post a picture of it so we know which type it is? If its a single fan unit, I know of 2 sorts. One bolts onto a moulded, fibreglass shroud that the rad fits into. The fan surround is also sometimes orange and kinda flared, and the fan has about 4 blades. My car uses this type.
The other type I'm aware of is held in front of the rad by 2 flat pieces of metal and a couple of metal rods. This fan has about 8 smaller blades I think, but it doesn't fit into a shroud. I have one of these laying up the top of my garden!
I know its the motor you need, but they are probably different for each type.
