Mike - seriously : have you a backup plan for getting down there.
I'm sure there are others in the Kent / Surrey / Suxxex groups who may have spare seats - if you want to be in a TVR rather than an everyday car.
Edited to add - hope you get it fixed in time..

MX5 sounds the sensible option, as you'll have no time to bed everything in and check for leaks etc after a few hundred miles.
Last thing you want is the Wedge on a FRENCH lowloader , whereas with the MX5 it doesn't matter
I'd lend you the 450 but you could take no luggage , as I'd be hiding in the boot

Did I tell you my special bits are good for at least another 50 bhp?
Hope they fit OK, I'm sure Mick can
things into shape...
If it's any consolation, I got the engine and 'box back in the Esprit only to realise that I'd missed out a special washer that fits on the gearbox input shaft, so the box had to come back out.
Put it all together, refitted brakes, driveshafts etc. and then realised that I hadn't torqued the clutch plate the first time...
ETA: from that photo above, I'd say your heads could benefit from some porting work, Mick!
Those long winter nights will soon be with us again...

Hi guys, thanks for the words of help and encouragement. It seems to be a timing/fuelling issue, with it not sounding like it's running cleanly on 8. Trouble is i'm tired, stressed and getting sh1t from work as well.
Worst case is that i've timed the cam wrong, i was haing a basd day Saturday, but I knew that so I checked, checked, checked and then checked it again before carrying on.
Going to pick up a different strobe in a minute so that i can check the full advance at 4000 rpm rather than relying on my ear and the tickover setting, which it's not happy running at.
Problems were compounded by having an air leak from the bottom of the plenum housing when i first put it all back together (must have been that crap I bought from up North
only joking Ian)
Off out to carry on again in a bit.

Any news ?
It's running, very lumpy at tickover and doesn't pull like it should, but it's running. I'm more & more convinced the cam timing is wrong. So we're going to bimble down and back to the Chateau and just enjoy the countryside and the
