Radiator & Swaneck Caps - Urgent

Need to locate a pair of caps for 400SE anyone have the component/part nos? or suggestions where I can get them on a Sunday!

Very urgent as am needing to solve the spewing of water from swaneck and overheating problem as the car is supposed to be going to LeMans on Wednesday morning

Scrub that have trawled through previous postings and found QH FC53 for swaneck and QH FC57 for expansion tank - just hope I can find these tomorrow and resolve the overheating problemo!

If you get really stuck you can borrow mine. I'm in Leicester Tuesday so could meet Tue pm somewhere.

Twas this time last year mine broke down on the way to Dover with a worn away top rad hose, that I managed to fix on the M25 services !

think you will be able to get them from most motor factors, i did the other week.

the one cap without the pressure relef part is from a 2.8 capri
the other pressure cap is a standard 15psi cap it is not the other one from the capri as this is only a 13psi one

I am passing Worcester way later today and may have some of them. Have to check, pretty sure I have a blank cap and may have a suitable pressure cap.

You can occassionally find that the join with incoming/outgoing pipes with the main feed perishes so it looks as if you are losing water from the cap. It can be quite hard to spot this. Try backing up the cap seal a little with some fabric or another rubber 'O' ring if you can find one of that size, to check if it really is the cap.

To all who proffered advise and especially help a big thank you from me.
But after a few hours filling it then running it and generally fartarsing about with it I am pleased to say I think its OK now
Tested it a few times from cold up to fan cut in (95ish) and no overheating.
But the swaneck cap was still weeping a little, gave it a run for 5 miles up nearby dual carriageway and did`nt overheat so guesss airlocks are all sorted - this afternoon managed to find a local factors with both caps on the shelf popped out fitted these went for hour long test (blat) open roads, round town, in traffic etc. and she behaved as if nothing had happend!

So whoopee Doo its off to LeeMonz on Wednesday for a bit of a rest, yeh right!

But just to be safe Rev you better add:-
Full set silicon hoses
re-cored rad
Otter switch
Spare fan motor
Water wetter

oh and a box of matches - cos if it overheats this year we`re havin a Big Bad Barbie !
