Yes. If the engine's hot you'll burn your fingers.

Job done, with no skin loss. Miss firing symptom still there though. Misses on partial throttle any gear, any speed, even stood still. Potentiometer I recon

you pulled the vacuum advance pipe off? or has that been suggested to you on another thread?

Pull the pipe out of the little rubber elbows, each end of it (on mine anyway).

Find a couple of suitably sized self-tappers or chipboard screws and plug the holes with them.

It made a big improvement to my car's wayward running, so worth a try.

yeah it's often the case that over-advance in the cruise state can bring about jerkiness/misfiring type symptoms. it's something easy (and free!) to try before you spend any more money. Rob at V8Racing does this alot on high capacity RV8 engines especially to cure cruise type jerkiness.
