Wedgefest, Women, Beer and rope.....

Well, I have been a bit quiet on the BBWF thus far, I have been busy reading your posts and looking at the pictures you guys have been putting up. All of them bringing back some brilliant memories of the weekend.
I personally thought that the event this year was one of the best. To be honest I think I enjoyed the Friday night just as much (if not more) than the main event! And would recommend that next year people stay on the Friday as well.
I was also relieved to find that bar one late night donut session we all pretty much behaved ourselves and a brilliant time was had by all. Although the hotel had to 'talk' to us a few times about the noise and beer I think that we just about got away with it, which is handy if we intend to go back there again.
Also my missus Elaine had a brilliant time as well. It is not often that you can combine a full weekend of tyre kicking and 'the missus' at the same time - We have not laughed together so much in years. By the time we got home my ribs were hurting 'cos we had laughed so much. Everytime I think of the Tug of war it brings a smile to my face.
Today in work for instance I burst into laughter for no reason in the middle of a pretty heavy management meeting when my mind started to wander and I started to think of Corno's car half way up the banking covered in 'police' tape - absolutely crazy weekend.
We felt that we had also met some brilliant people and hope to have made some genuine friends over the course of the weekend - you know who you are - keep on drinking the water!!!
The Dutch boys were also brilliant sports - especially after 'operation up the kyber!' I just wished I had spent more time with them to get to know them better. I am determined to arrange a Dutch invasion next year so look out the boyos (and honarary boyos) are coming over!
There will obviously be some changes for next year's event and some decisions to make, do we stay at Ettington or move to a new location?, do we arrange insurance cover(?!) for those attending, how do we make sure that the Support vehicles boyos do not go away out of pocket? etc etc.
Whatever happens next year I can wholehartedly say that this year was one of the best weekends I have had in years.

PS. Regrets:
1. Not asking the band to play the theme tune to 'Benny Hill' during the tug of war.
2. Not drinking enough beer!
3. Not having the Wedge!!
4. Not having enough time to talk to everybody!!!
