When my ARB bracket snapped at lunchtime. It made an obvious tinkle-tinkle noise on the road. Looks like it is a fatigue fracture, as it has the tell-tale clam shell marks, with varying degrees of corrosion on. I guess it must have been bent back by the previous owner - annoying really as I bent the other one, and chucked it away in favour of a new one for this very reason. Luckily no one was hurt, and I managed to get the car back under control fairly easily.

i had my arb break on my 350i too. luckily you can still get new ones from ford. i paid £8 for two and easily fitted in no time..

Do you remember the part no. or the model & year, Granada/Escort etc. they are from. Checked the ones on the 400 and one at least looks like it may have been bent back at some time.

I decided to replace the ARB bracket today, amazing - it only took 15 minutes, quickest fix on the wedge ever! I'd like to know the part number for new bits too.

sorry dont know the part no. i work for land rover and we deal with quicko parts company. i own a 1986 350i,so i asked for 2 arb for a 1986 mk2 granada from quicko and when they came they where the right ones luckily enough. i just presumed that if the front suspension is off a mk2 granada they would be the same.

Wedge epistles mentions 1515778 or 1515773 for the one bolt type - Granada.

These are obsolete according to a local Ford dealer - they are not particularly interested in helping any further. The two bolt ones are easily available so drilling out the slot might be the only answer.

I ordered these brackets from a Ford dealer last year. The part no on the invoice is F1515773. They cost £3.94 plus vat each. Hope this helps

This was for the one bolt type.

That is the number I found only to be told they were osbsolete. I will try another Ford place tomorrow otherwise I will give TVR Carparts a go as Rev-erend suggested.

Superflex sell two bolt clamps, they fit their universal range bushes which have the same part no. as the wedge bushes they sell. The two bolt clamps for a Mondeo look pretty much right though the arb is smaller so I would have to check that first. I am tempted to try and fit two bolt clamps as the one bolt ones seem to be a bad design. Unless anyone knows a reason why not?

Had one missing for ages and only spotted by someone else looking at how soggy the front shocks were, suppose you get used to the progresivly worse handling and adjust accordingly.

I know my rear end needs re doing as far too soft and bouncy but again it still seems to go round some corners ok

Tried some Mondeo brackets, they look about the right size however they have a curved profile across their width so are effectively too small to fit properly. I have just received a pair of Superflex brackets, these have slotted bolt holes so it may be possible to fit them without having to drill out the original holes.

I will update this post if this works.
