Door rod clips

Anyone know where to get hold of these things - I just went to open the car door and it went 'ping'. I foolishly gave my spare ones away. They take a 3.9mm rod.
So far I have found this on USA ebay:

Jim, I make these up out of thin sheet aly.
Make a 'T' shape with about 3/4" arms and 1.5" body. Each arm/the body about 3/8" wide. This is easily made with some tinsnips.
Then drill a 2mm hole in the T where the arms meet.
When you fit it together you bend the arms around the back and it keeps the whole lot together.
The benefit is that it will last forever, unlike that crappy TR7 plastic.

Sounds good - any pics as I'm strugling to picture the finished product
Yeah well, all the old ones will be as brittle as the one you have just snapped. I have replaced them only to have them snap again. I would recommend the "Adam Aly" method ;^)
Just took a photo of one I prepared earlier, although it's a reject. Try and make both of the arms of the T about an inch long, that seems to work. You put the bent bits of the wire into the hole then wrap the arms around the wire at the top.

They look identical to the ones fitted to my old Spitfire....and Metro, Nova, citroen ZX... I guess they are probably a pretty universal type of thing.
Could try a scrapyard or try Leacy Mg Ltd. Tel 0121 356 3003. They are just down the road from me and really helpfull with bits for ALL old cars.
If they do sell them but don't mail order, give me shout.

When ever i walk into any motor factors and show them bits like these door clips they say 'er...no idea!'
Mine was glued because it happed just as i was about to leave for le-mans! So glad it happened before i left and not when i was in france! Not cool having to get in the passenger side! lol

Give me a break.....I've got to earn a crust somewhere stock picking charge, invioce tariff, jiffy bag and then carriage, on 27p (my existing customers would have it FOC!)
The min charge of 1.50 carriage.... the stock arrived with me 3 week ago, I would have thought that they were brittle enough by now!
