Advice on bottom link arm

Its the arm that goes from the track rod end to the chassis is there any specific tension they need to be at?

You mean the tierod with the big rubber doughnuts? They set the castor angle IIRC, so need to be at whatever setting gives you proper adjustment.

If it is the tie rod, when I rebuilt my suspension I took measurements and set the distance the same. Still need to get the geometry set up correctly though but its a starting point.

Can work ok to take measurements. Refurbished my front suspension, took measurements, put it back, had alignment checked --> it was still spot on.
