lsd diff

i have to recon the diff on my 350 fhc as it's leaking like a pig
anyone know if a lsd is a straight swap ?
anyone got any recomendation on where to get it overhauled ?

The seals can be replaced. Not done it myself (my diff is still fine), but understand it 'only' takes to remove the parts attached to it, and the seals can be replaced. In general the diff is a sturdy thing, and is used on cars that push a lot more torque and power through it. Another is that there is a breather pipe, and cleaning it can sometimes cure leakage. Others probably can help you more.

thanks for that , i think diff is beyond cleaning the breather - it's pissing out oil on to the calipers -which are also dead
i've taken all the bits off the diff so i'll drop it out in a couple of days
to think i was only going to change the rear discs now the car is in bits for a good while
oh and i need some hub carriers as well if anyone has some
......... here we go again

That is what happened to my dif, oil all over the rear brakes, took off shafts and replaced the seals (from an XJS I seem to remember) put all back together, new disks and pads and satill ok after 2 years.

Bit off a sw%%e to to even with access to the ramp and all garage tools and hydraulic presses etc, but we did it one evening in about 2 hours per side
