Distributor fault

Having just replaced the distributor on the 350 (got a new one ebay cheap) I have taken the old one apart. The car was running OK I thought, however, the old one did have a problem with the weight mechanism. There is a plastic washer that the upper shaft rests on next to the weights, it has cut outs in the side to allow the inner weight tips to clear it when moving out from rest. The washer was damaged allowing it to rotate at random mis-aligning the cut outs with the weight tips. This limits the travel of the weights and therefore advance to around half of what it should have been. Cutting off the edges to make it round would solve the problem. The thicker spring had also detached from the post, it appears very slack when put back on (streched? or normal? ) are new springs avaiable from anywhere?
