I feel very sorry for the staff but would guess they were well aware that it's not been a happy ship for several year's and a bit live a long drawn-out death - can actually come as a relief.
I also feel sorry for the owners of newer cars but it would appear that dealers and indies have been making big efforts to source parts outside of TVR for quite some time.
For instance Austec and some others have been making / inproving speed 6 parts ..
So the owners aree not totally in the lurch if something breaks .. but it sure will be testing the TVR community

Agreed Rev. Sad day for the workers and their families. I have been in that situation twice before the first of which was a shot out of the dark. No warning just out on your ear with a startled look on yer face. The second occurrence was a long multi-year drawn out experience and I was glad to be put out of my misery. Given the choice I'd go for the former!
As for the owners I feel for those with current production models as values are bound to be hit. I wouldn't think parts availability was too much trouble as there is a large enough install base to make it worth while someone setting up a business.
As for us Wedgers... We were excommunicated from the fold years ago, so it is only of passing interest. There is an advantage to being the bastard son after all

How do you spell TVR in the Chek Republic
Its a total sin, may he burn in hell, and its prity bad for all that work there and all of those skill will go to wast, there will be a lot of unhappy people out there and when the factory moves will people still buy TVRs that arnt totaly Brittish, just like the beef, comes in from foren conterise full of unknowen crap and poeple say out stuff is to expensive.
Will the price of the cars go down then, well there will only cost a packet of chrips to make??

sorry to hear that (i´am from europe, but non-uk).
on 1 side i must say:
a TVR is only a TVR when it comes from UK.
but on the other side i must say (expieriences from my main business): i still wonder how a big european(french), world-wide operating cosmetic-company still produces in uk: i visited the factory several times: the output and efficiancy is poor, stupid rules for "health and safety reasons", lots of people are often ill, its very difficult to improve something...and, and, and....i´m wondering (since years) why the headquarter in france doenst close the company.
i know that´s hard to say...but it´s fact and it´s the reality.
for TVR its a bit differnt because TVR transfers a certain "feeling" and some history wherefrom these cars live and are linked....but on the other side its hard, tough business...and so we are back on the other statements i listed above.
time has come to say good-bye!!! and eventually its time to say good-bye to the brand TVR inlongterm.
