450SE at TVR Centre

Does anyone know the 450SE for sale at the TVR Centre? It looks great but has had 6 owners in its life and only has 38k miles on it. Surely one of the 6 must have been a Pistonheader!
Alternately are there any other top notch big wedges for sale or coming up for sale soon. Sold my Caterham 7 to Combine and have an empty garage

Im a fellow 7 owner [xflow]
My advice is to contact Rob Ingleby and ask him to find you exactly what you want -i know rob well and hes just a top bloke and nobody knows more about TVRs than he
h'ell also find you one much cheaper than any dealer -he has loads of contacts in the business

You pay him either a flat rate finders fee or a fee per inspection -well worth it just for peace of mind
Morover he'll do all the haggling for you ,and then the car has the added value for any future buyer of being a rob ingleby sourced car [which is worth a lot ]

I did consider going to look at this car when I was searching 2/3 weeks ago.
However, why not check out Blaine and Lee's cars? They both post on this forum and their 400's are advertised on PH/Wedges. The only thing I now about the 450 at the TVR centre is it had an electrical problem whilst on a test drive and a small fire started in the steering column! When I wanted to go and view the car it was having a new clutch fitted and therefore couldn't be driven. That was nearly 4 weeks ago so it should be ok now.
Let me know what you look at / how you get on.

Both Cars well know to Wedgers, Both at a much better price, Both very well loved, Got to be worth a look. But dont expect to home without one, a good 400 will grab you by the bo**ox and not let you go ...... will it Emma

Never a truer word said - except I don't have any bo**ox! Pressie has arrived - am waiting til Stu gets home before opening it.
Buy a good 400 - you won't regret it. Loads of fun and great looks too. I always regretted selling my 350i about 8 years ago and have been hankering after another good wedge ever since. 2 Chimaera 450s have come and gone (no regrets there) and my Vixen is fantastic but obviously a completely different charact to the Wedge. Go for it.

Rob Ingleby ( findasportscar.co.uk ) was suitably impressed with both of Mine and Blaines wedge although Neither of us prepared to drop our selling price to what his client was willing to pay. You do get what you pay for though...

I intended to buy a Wedge but I have always loved the Griff shape. It also makes it easy to get the purchase approved by my wife who hates the look of wedges.

Simon - glad you're happy with your purchase. Ref Wedge looks - my partner really hated them until he was given a lift in a 350i. His opinion soon changed. He does prefer the 400 shape over all other models - so we bought a 400. I personally think that the Wedges are the best looking TVR's (apart from the pre-M models of course!).
Nice one simon -ive driven a 4.6 precat griff -youll have to learn to drive compeltely different than in a 7 where you can get away with murder in the twisty bits - a 7 looks after you while the griff will bite your bum if you dont give it due respect -its not as progressive as the 7 in terms of what the back end does -with the griff its all or nothing ,especially if there is any moisture on the tarmac .But for looks you cant top a griff and the precat makes a fab noise on full chat
preact is a good choice and it will hold its value well ,although it wont be a s quick as your HPC -i used to have a 247 bhp HPC which scared me to death but was awesome on the track -but SWMBO instructed me to be rid of it becuae i was apparently having too much fun

I have to say my 3 boys think the wedge shape is just ultra cool and they prefer it to my 7 ,but then 80s stuff is now all the rage in the teens age group -thye even like my old collection of 80s vinyl for goodness sake
Im going to have to get out my 80s wide lapelled double breasted jackets and peter wingaard moustache and grow some sideburns and then ill look the business in my wedge -and get a period tape player put in so i can listen to my all old 10cc and lou reed albums [if i can hear them above the exhaust noise ]

I do miss the 7 when I needed a right good thrash to relieve some tension - it was very forgiving and flattering. I think that the Griff will be more of a handfull but should deliver thrills at much lower cornering speeds.
