Last year people (including myself) spent too much time enjoying themselves and failed to capture much of the event. So I promise I'll try harder this year! Camera at the ready.
Anyone having video cameras who are willing to get footage of the tech speeches would be doing a real service to us all!

Unfortunately I've only got an iccle 2Mpixel still camera so can't shoot the talks. Hoping to get the time to drop in to my parents and getting hold of my dad's 6m pixel SLR. He's upgraded and so is passing this on to me. Should be able to do some nice stills then.
If we can get two people who will film each talk or event then in the cutting room we should be able to do a nice job of the DVD. I have some software somewhere for making a DVD but I've not attempted video stuff before. Might be a better result to let someone more experienced at it.
So is anyone willing to put their names up to shoot some video?

I'll bring a camcorder, and a still camera
Fantastic! If we can get one or two more movie cameras then the workload can be spread nice and thin.
It would be good for the "camera team" to meet up just before Tech Talk 1 and discuss who will shoot what.
I can transfer the footage to DVD either as a playable DVD or as MPEG 1 or 2 (PAL) files.
I will be bringing my video camera, tripod and normal (film) SLR camera again this year. I don't mind having another go at making the dvd again, if that's what people would like me to do? The only thing I would ask is if people could send me their footage on original media (Mini-DV tapes and DVD's) if at all possible. The reason for this is that it would allow me to capture the footage on my pc in as high as quality as possible and therefore improve the quality of the dvd.
By the way, if anybody who hasn't got a copy of last years dvd would like one, please let me know by midday tomorrow (Friday) and I will bring a copy with me to the wedge fest. The cost of the dvd is £5, which includes a donation towards the cost of running the wedge fest support vehicles.
